PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT Application Information

Town of Sunnyvale Planning and Development Department manages the Town's land development process and coordinates activities regarding long-range land use planning. The Planning and Development Department processes development applications, such as, site plan, zoning amendment, special use permit, plats, etc.; provides technical support to the Planning and Zoning Commission and City Council, and maintains the Town's Comprehensive Plan. The focus is on development that will enhance the quality of life for residents and businesses.

Planning and Development Department staff strives to help create a development application process that minimizes complexity and facilitates efficient project completion. 

It is encouraged to schedule a Pre-Application Meeting. Submit conceptual drawings online and receive general feedback from multiple departments on proposed projects before making a formal submittal. This will help avoid confusion and delay in application processing.
