From its initial start in 1976, the Dallas County Parks and Open Space program set the foundation where open space was intentionally preserved for the conservation of wildlife and native habitat, while simultaneously created a welcoming environment that invites visitors to enjoy the beauty of Dallas County.
With twenty-one preserves totaling 3,519 acres, a variety of experiences await visitors ranging from recreational opportunities to connecting with their community in nature.
The Dallas County Parks and Open Space program is currently developing a new Master Plan for the preserves throughout the county. Dallas County will hold a series of public meetings to inform the public about the plan process and collect public feedback to incorporate into the plan.
The Dallas County Open Space Plan will help guide enhancements and improvements to the county preserves over the next ten years.
All meetings will be held from 6:30-8:00 PM.
