[ARCHIVED] Town facilities affected by inclement weather

inclement weather

Town facilities:

For the safety of Town employees and due to the weather and road conditions, Town Hall will close at 3 p.m. today, Feb. 23.

Town Hall will remain closed until Town administrators are able to reassess road and weather conditions. A decision will be made by 12 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 24.

Important Information:

If you experience a busted pipe and you are unable to locate your water shut off, do NOT call 9-1-1. Instead, call the Public Works on-call number or the non-emergency number. Someone will be available to assist you as fast as they are able to get to you.

IMPORTANT PHONE NUMBERS:

Non-Emergencies - (972) 203-0312

On-call Public Works - (972) 251-0567

Please call 9-1-1 for true emergencies only during this time. It is imperative that the system does not become overloaded with non-emergent calls, so that our first responders are available to respond to actual emergencies.

Republic Services:

Republic Services has suspended operations in Sunnyvale for Thursday, Feb. 24 due to the inclement weather.

All Thursday (Feb. 24) routes will be pushed to Friday (Feb. 25) and all Friday routes will be pushed to Saturday (Feb. 26)

Oncor:

Oncor is closely monitoring and actively preparing for the arrival of the weather that is anticipated to bring freezing temperatures and wintry precipitation. Resources and personnel are being pre-positioned ahead of the weather to ensure any necessary restoration work can begin as soon and as safely as possible.

Oncor is not expecting any major power issues related to the weather that will be moving through Sunnyvale. The current weather predictions are calling for no more than 1/4 inch of frozen precipitation on power lines. Power lines are typically affected by 3/4 inches or more.

In the event you experience a power outage, there are multiple ways to report it:

  • Call (888)-313-4747
  • Text OUT to 66267
  • Online
  • Download the MyOncor app on the App Store or Google Play
