Although the burn ban has been lifted, the Fire Department would like to remind you of the following:
Open burning can only be achieved with an authorized burn permit. Burn permits are issued Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Visit
townofsunnyvale.org/burning for additional information or to fill out an application for a burn permit.
No burning should take place when wind speeds are forecasted above 15 mph.
Never leave the burn site unattended.
Burning is solely for the purpose of land-clearing and only trees, brush, and limbs may be burned.
If you do choose to burn, please ensure that the fire is extinguished before sundown.
Burn piles are required to be at least 150 feet from structures and 50 feet from property lines and public roadways.
Always have a water source or form of extinguishment available.
